The Australia Philippines Business Council welcomes today’s announcement of Philippine Airlines’ direct flights from Perth to Manila.
Louisa Cotter – WA Vice President of the APBC said –“ in the 2021 census, there are over 46,000 Filipinos living in Western Australia that can benefit from this service for travellers seeking more direct connectivity to reconnect with families, and provides fantastic opportunities to build upon existing trade, business and international education growth.
The new service will provide significant boost for tourism, with further opportunities to explore and create further awareness on the rich culture, the food and the natural wonders that Philippines and Western Australia has to offer as a two-way travel destination.
Philippine Airlines is an airline that is the heart of the Filipinos and the Filipino Australian community in WA looks forward to supporting the commencement of services in March. “

“This is a memorable milestone. Back in 1972, my father Rafael Toda Sr, was PAL’s Area Manager in charge of Western Australia. Even as far back at then, PAL had already identified the future potential of bilateral tourism opportunities between the Philippines and Western Australia.
PAL has taken the initiative to enter the WA market with zest – a three times weekly service between Manila and Perth with excellent connections to/from the USA, Canada, and Southeast Asian countries, as well as to/from the major domestic hubs of Cebu and Davao.
Perth is also PAL’s first “new international destination” post the Pandemic. This decision demonstrates the airline’s confidence in WA’s VFR, tourism and business travel sectors, as well as the great potential the state has to offer inbound travellers, by way of business opportunities, and experiential tourism taking in WA’s unique destinations and savouring its fresh produce, seafood and wines. “
